Project Gala is the preliminary name for an upcoming cruise ship of the P&O Cruises fleet. She will be built by Meyer Werft at its shipyard in Papenberg, Germany.

At 180,000 GT, the new ship will become the largest ship in service with P&O Cruises and is likely to become the new flagship of the fleet, taking the honour from Britannia. She is due to enter service in 2020 with passengers able to book cruises on her from late 2018.

Naming and construction

The ship was originally announced on 6 September 2016. The name will be decided by passengers of P&O Cruises as announced on their office twitter feed.

Facilities

The ship is planned to have more than 15 restaurants, including 8 specialty restaurants, and more than 10 bars. The ship will have 16 whirlpools and 4 swimming pools, one of which is inside an entertainment venue called The Dome and features a retractable stage.

The ship will have several entertainment venues, including The Dome. At night, The Dome will feature aerial performances and other shows.

The half-mile-long Lanai Deck features a covered promenade with outdoor restaurants.

Inside, the ship will feature a three-deck-high Atrium with a grand staircase.
