Entertainment City Limited is a joint venture between Unitech Group and International Amusement Limited (IAL) that owns and operates the Entertainment City in Noida. Entertainment City was incorporated on 7 February 2002 to acquire, purchase, develop and operate amusement parks and entertainment centres, malls and commercial complexes.

About the project

Entertainment City Limited (ECL) is a subsidiary of International Amusement Limited (IAL), sponsors of the first amusement park in Delhi, Appu Ghar. Entertainment City Limited is located at Plot No.A-2, Sector-38A, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, spread over an area of 147.48 acres allotted by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA).

The project is being developed in three phases. Phase I of the project consisted of The Great India Place Mall, and Teen Zone of Amusement Park. Phase II consisted of Gardens Galleria Mall, Arrival Village, Family Zone, Lake WOW and Water Park of the amusement park component.

Commercial operation of Phase I of the project's The Great India Place Mall was completed in April 2007, and Teen Zone of Amusement Park commissioned operations in September 2007. Commercial operation of the retail component of the Phase II, Arrival Village, was completed in December 2009; Family Zone was operational in April 2008; Lake WOW commissioned operation in August 2012; and Water Park commissioned operation in August 2013. Phase III is being planned and is envisaged to begin development in FY 2017.

Management

The management of Entertainment City vests with the Board of Directors. The strategic and day-to-day management of the company lies with Managing Directors Rajan Narula and Monny Vijeshwar, under the guidance of Shri Gian Vijeshwar, Chairman of the Company and founder of Appu Ghar, Delhi. Properties

As of 2016, Entertainment City houses Worlds of Wonder amusement park, Worlds of Wonder water park, Wonder Speedway go-karting track, two malls (The Great India Place and Gardens Galleria), Kidzania, Decathlon, and McDonald's.

Amusement park

Entertainment City opened the amusement park Worlds of Wonder to the public on September 19, 2007. The project was designed by international architect and design bonsultants FORREC (Canada), Management Resources (California), ECA2 (France), Electrosonic (USA), City Design Group (USA), DEW (Canada) and TUV (Germany).

The amusement park features 20 rides and a video games parlor. The park follows the highest globally accepted safety standards of DIN-Deutshes Institut Für Normung (European safety standards). The amusement park is divided into two zones, Teen Zone and Family Zone.

Lake WOW was launched by the great magician Franz Harary on 16 August 2012. It offers the patrons boating pleasure and the feel of a natural lake.

Water park

Entertainment City opened Worlds of Wonder Water Park to the public on August 1, 2013. The park is spread over an area of nine acres. All rides were procured from global suppliers such as Whitewater West (Canada) and Arihant Industries (Mumbai, India).

Go-karting

Wonder Speedway, operational since January 2014, is designed, constructed and run in accordance with the regulations and processes laid down by the Circuit International d'Karting (CIK), the governing body of kart motorsports worldwide, and under the aegis of the Federation International d'Automobile (FIA), the governing body of all motorsports worldwide.

The Great India Place

The Great India Place mall has over 250+ outlets, including F & B, discothèque and major retail stores like Big Bazaar, Lifestyle, Shopper Stop, Pantaloons, and Globus. A multiple cuisine food court with fine dining, cafes, specialty snacks and various restaurants cover an area of about 180,000 sq. ft. (17,000 m2) The in-house Carnival Cinemas has six huge screens and a seating capacity of 1220 people. The mall's premises also includes two kids' zones (one on the ground floor and the other at the food court, on the second floor), plus a 7D movie theatre.

Gardens Galleria

Gardens Galleria has retail outlets like Central, Westside, Hypercity, Pantaloons Woman, Peach Tree, Crossword, and Croma. The mall offers Noida's first Starbucks and terrace lounges like Turquoise Cottage, The Smoke Factory, Bohemia and Imperfecto. The mall also has two large LED screens on its exterior, outer floor lighting, and attractions (like a virtual cinema, candy floss, and kids' trains) to engage children and adults alike. Attached to this mall is a five-star hotel, with 100 rooms and a terrace pool, which will be launched soon.

Decathlon Group owns 20 brands, with research and development facilities developing technical, good-looking and simple products, always at the lowest possible prices. Each brand represents a different sport or group of sports, with a dedicated product development and design team. These products are aimed at all sports enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, and are sold exclusively at Decathlon stores.

KidZania

KidZania is a safe, unique, and interactive indoor theme park that empowers, inspires and educates kids through real-life role-play activities. By blending reality with entertainment, it provides an authentic and powerful developmental platform where kids can discover, explore and learn about the real world. KidZania represents industries like private services, public services, entertainment, airline, automobile, retail, restaurants and factories, where children can play the roles of pilot, surgeon, detective, chef, engineer, TV producer, radio jockey, car mechanic and many more.

McDonald's

Founded in the United States in 1940, McDonald's is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers. McDonald's primarily sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken products, French fries, breakfast items, soft drinks, milkshakes, and desserts. It is an all-time favourite of all age groups.

Appu Ghar Express

Appu Ghar Express is a fully air-conditioned indoor amusement park. It has a 16-lane bowling alley, for dance parties, conferences, family entertainment centre, birthday party, crazy rides, and much more. Appu Ghar Express offers video games, four indoor amusement rides for kids and adults, and separate recreational zones for kids, teenagers, adults and corporates. The place serves a large variety of North India cuisines at affordable prices.
